“Eat Bulaga” host Pauleen Luna recently gave birth to a bouncing baby girl via cesarean section at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center on November 6.
According to showbiz website PEP, the Kapuso artist found it hard to move because of the surgical delivery of her baby. However, she still strived to stand when a priest came in to bless her daughter.
Despite the anticipation, Pauleen revealed that she wasn’t expecting to give birth anytime soon, quipping that her baby didn’t want to share the same birthday with her, which was on November 10.
“Hindi pa talaga kami ready,” she admitted.
The host-actress only went to the doctor because she already felt contractions in her abdomen.
“Nagpa-check up lang ako, kasi may mga contractions na ako. Siguro mataas lang talaga ang threshold ko sa pain. Kahit medyo malakas na ang contractions, ‘kala ko parang normal lang.”
“Iba na pala, sabi ng doktor ko. Nagpa-check up lang talaga ako, e, pinadiretso na ako i-confine… gusto na niya talaga lumabas.”
Since her OB-gynecologist noticed that her baby had a faint heartbeat, they decided to perform a C-section on Pauleen. Despite the difficult delivery, Pauleen Luna gave birth to a healthy, 6.9 lbs. bouncing baby girl.
Pauleen’s husband, Vic Sotto, proposed a unique name for their daughter: “Prima,” short for premature. This is quite apt as Pauleen gave birth three weeks earlier than her original due date.
For now, fans and supporters of the celebrity couple were only given a glimpse of the baby’s tiny hand clasping the index finger of Pauleen’s mom, Chat Luna, on Instagram. It was captioned with: “Our new angel.”
Fret not since Vic and Pauleen have pledged to officially post their newborn baby’s face and name soon.
Pauleen shared the extraordinary feeling of being a first-time mom, saying “Iba pala talaga ang feeling. Ang sarap-sarap kahit mahirap, okay lang.”
Even though she had a rough time with her first childbirth, Pauleen gamely said yes to baby number two.
